Visitor Safety Measures

We’ve put in place a number of measures to keep you safe on your visit.  These are detailed below and will be reviewed on an on-going basis.

  • Visitors can enter the Cathedral via the main steps or via the lift which is accessed from the car park.
  • On arrival you will be greeted by a member of our Welcome Team, who will be on hand to answer any questions. They will ask you to sanitise your hands before entering.
  • A member of clergy will be present in the Cathedral, and available to speak to, for much of the time we are open.
  • Some of our Cathedral staff may be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep both you and themselves safe during your visit.
  • We have introduced an enhanced cleaning regime, paying special attention to surfaces which are touched regularly.
  • The Car-Park will remain open, in line with cathedral opening hours.
  • Our parking ticket machine does not give change, so if possible, please bring the correct change with you.
  • There will be no access to public toilets.
  • The Café and Shop will remain closed until further notice
  • We are running a revised service schedule which can be viewed here. The 11am Sunday Mass will continue to be streamed on Facebook and Youtube.
