Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima to Visit the Cathedral Posted on Wednesday 6 September 2017

We are delighted to announce that The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, along with Relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco will visit the Cathedral on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 October 2017.

A whole series of events and services are planned across the two days including a special evening Mass at 7pm on Friday which Archbishop Malcolm McMahon will preside over.

On Saturday, the Feast of the Holy Rosary, there will be a public recitation of the rosary from 11am followed by a Farewell Mass with Bishop Tom Williams at 12 noon.

Devotions are encouraged across the two days between services and all are welcome to celebrate this once in a lifetime visitation. The full programme of events is listed below.

Friday 6th October 2017 

1.30pm Procession from the Missionaries of Charity Convent in Seel Street. Those who wish to take part in this procession should assemble in the square next to the convent in good time.

14.00 Crowning of the NPVS of Our Lady of Fatima by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon. Fatima Devotions / Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary

15.00 Holy Hour / Divine Mercy Chaplet /Benediction

16.00 Fatima Film Showing on “The Little Shepherds

16.45 & 21.30 Talk on the Message of Fatima

19.00 Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon. Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Please note: Veneration of the Relics of SS Jacinta & Francisco/ Fatima Devotions/ Recitation of the Rosary/ Enrollment & Investiture in the Brown Scapular will be available & facilitated until the Cathedral closes at 22.00 

Saturday 7th October 2017  (Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary) 

9.00am Holy Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel

10.00 Fatima Devotions/ Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary Veneration of the Relics of Saints Jacinta & Francisco

11.00 Sacrament of Confession 11.30 Enrollment & Investiture in the Brown Scapular

12.00 Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Thomas Anthony Williams (Farewell Mass)

13.30 End of the visitation
