Lady Chapel

THE LADY CHAPEL

Softly coloured by Margaret Traherne´s rose-tinted windows this chapel, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, contains a ceramic sculpture of the Madonna and Child by Robert Brumby (b1934). The altar frontal designed by Sister Anthony SND and made in the Cathedral Art Studio, alludes to the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Mary at the Annunciation. It is a favourite place for visitors to light votive candles, tokens of their prayers of intercession.
