THE CHAPEL OF THE HOLY OILS

Holy Oils Chapel

Here are displayed the vessels containing the oils which are blessed in the Cathedral each year on Holy Thursday and distributed throughout the parishes of the Archdiocese. The embroidered panel was designed by Robin McGhie (b 1921) and made in the Cathedral Art Studio. It depicts the various uses made of the oils in the sacraments and rites of the Church.
