THE EDUCATION SERVICEwelcomes enquiries at any time from Schools, Colleges, Universities Teachers are invited to make an appointment with the Organiser of the SVS, Miss May Gillet, to be shown round the Cathedral and to discuss the possibility of a school visit. Teachers may ring the Cathedral , 0151 709 9222, and discuss a visit with the Organiser. Students are invited to do likewise and be helped to realise how a visit to a Cathedral can enrich their future pupils. Pupils may be present at a regular service during their visit and experience a community at prayer. They may participate in a service, perhaps to celebrate a recent First Holy Communion or Confirmation. Teachers may wish to prepare a short meditation and lead their pupils in an act of worship. The Cathedral is normally open from 8.00am - 6.00pm, but closes at 5.00pm on Sundays in winter. There is no charge for admission but a contribution to the upkeep of the building would be appreciated. Guides are usually on duty to show you round and explain the mission of the Cathedral. Photography is permitted in the Cathedral except during Services.
