Jubilee Organ Recital: Ian Tracey (Liverpool Cathedral)

Friday 7th July 2017, 7.30pm - 8.30pm

As the Cathedral marks its 50th Anniversary, so does its famous Grand Organ. Built by Walkers and completed just hours before the consecration in 1967, it has since been played by some of the most celebrated organists in the world. This year, we’ll pay tribute to the Cathedral’s much-loved Grand Organ in a special series of 50th anniversary recitals.

To conclude our series, we warmly welcome Liverpool Cathedral’s Ian Tracey.

Ian holds the position of Organist Titulaire  alongside a busy schedule of concerts, masterclasses and recitals across the world. Ian will play music by Bach, Hindemith and Flor Peeters and the Invocations Op 35 of William Mathias, commissioned by the Dean and Chapter of Liverpool Cathedral and first performed by Noel Rawsthorne in Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in 1967.
