WARNING: RESTRICTIONS ON UPPER MOUNT PLEASANT

WARNING: RESTRICTIONS ON UPPER MOUNT PLEASANT

LATEST (14 January 2012):  Despite the signs barring through traffic on Upper Mount Pleasant  being erected at the end of October 2012,  since then they have been covered up, so the restrictions have not come into effect.   We have received no notification as to when the restrictions will be enforced, but during this last week lights powered by solar panels have been fitted to the covered up signs forbidding through traffic.

PLEASE BE ALERT TO THE RESTRICTIONS.   Any further news will be posted on the website.

Road signPlease note that as from as yet an unspecified date, Upper Mount Pleasant (the stretch between Oxford Street/Hope Street and Brownlow Hill) will be closed to through traffic (except for buses, taxis, authorised vehicles and cycles) and the Cathedral car park then can only be accessed from the Hope Street end and not from Brownlow Hill.    This is to be monitored by CCTV to prevent unauthorised passage with consequent fines.
