Christopher McElroy

Director of Music
 

The Director of Music has overall responsibility for the musical content of services and other events at the Cathedral.   He manages the Music Department and works closely with his colleagues over matters of content, planning, and development of the musical life of the Cathedral.    Specifically, he directs and trains the Cathedral Choir (of men and boys).     

Richard Lea

Cathedral Organist and Assistant Director of Music

The Cathedral Organist plays the organ for the majority of the services at the Cathedral.    As Assistant Director of Music he supports and assists the Director, deputising for him in his absence.     He is also the Director of the Cathedral's adult mixed choir, the Cantata Choir.   

Philip Arkwright

Sub Organist and Director of the Cathedral Girls' Choir

The Sub Organist has primary responsibility for liturgies at the Cathedral which require music, but not the choir.   As Director of the Girls' Choir he is also in charge of their training and development.

Stephen Mannings

 

Crypt Organist and Director of the Cathedral Youth Choir

The Crypt Organist plays the organ for Masses in the Crypt on Sundays. He also directs the Cathedral Junior Choir.

Organ Scholar

The Organ Scholar plays the organ for services in the absence of the Organist, and assists with training the choristers.
