The Cantata Choir
The Cantata Choir is a mixed voice choir of about 40 members which rehearses at the Cathedral. It was founded by Philip Duffy (former Master of the Music) in the 1970s and now operates under the auspices of the Concerts Society. The Director is Richard Lea, Cathedral Organist and Assistant Director of Music.
Singers should have some prior choral experience and be reasonably competent sight-readers. Sopranos are particularly welcome.
If you would like to join, we would welcome you to attend a couple of rehearsals before discussing your application with the Director.
The Choir rehearses in the Song Room on Thursday evenings.
